Prime Minister of Myanmar pays an official visit to China

  At the invitation of Mr Wen Jiabao, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, General Soe Win, Prime Minister of the Union of Myanmar, and wife Daw Than Than Nwe left Yangon on February 14 for the P.R.China to pay an official visit.

  They were seen off at the airport by Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Than Shwe and wife Daw Kyaing Kyaing, Vice-Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Maung Aye and wife Daw Mya Mya San, member of the State Peace and Development Council General Thura Shwe Mann of the Ministry of Defence and wife Daw Khin Lay Thet, Secretary-1 of the State Peace and Development Council Lt-Gen Thein Sein and wife Daw Khin Khin Win, Charge d’Affaires ai of the Embassy of the P.R.China Mr Yu Boren and Embassy staff and departmental heads.

  The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister for National Planning and Economic Development U Soe Tha, Minister for Commerce Brig-Gen Tin Naing Thein, Minister for Foreign Affairs U Nyan Win and wife Daw Myint Myint Soe, Minister for Communications, Posts and Telegraphs and Minister for Hotels and Tourism Brig-Gen Thein Zaw, Minister for Energy Brig-Gen Lun Thi, Minister for Rail Transportation Maj-Gen Aung Min and departmental officials.
